Reservations: The duration (time of use) is determined by the area's settings, not by the resident
If a resident makes a reservation for a common area and the space remains occupied for longer than expected—or the next resident cannot make a reservation until several hours later—this is generally NOT a platform failure.
Reason:
Each amenity is configured with a usage time (reservation duration). This setting determines how long each reservation lasts and applies equally to all residents. When making a reservation, the resident only selects the start time; the duration is automatically taken from the amenity’s settings.
Example:
If the area is configured with a usage time of 3 hours and a resident makes a reservation at 3:00 p.m., the amenity remains occupied until 6:00 p.m. The next resident will only be able to make a reservation for that space starting at 6:00 p.m., when the configured time ends.
What to note:
- This behavior corresponds to the current settings defined for that common area.
- If you want reservations to last longer or shorter, the association property management can adjust the area’s usage time from the Dashboard at Administración (Administration).
- Resident role: If you need a different block, you must request it from your association property management, as the restriction is defined by the management.
